Intermittant problems computer?

I have been slowly but surely burning my own chips, Just a few adjustments to the fuel table so far. one day I was driving around and i came to a stop and the Idle started jumping around, and the service engine soon light flashed irradically with no pattern, i tried to accelerate and no matter how much throttle i gave it, it would barely move and them cut out and move alittle more and cut out and it died a couple of times (just trying to get out of the intersection) finally i was able to get the rpms up and after ~1500 and up it was like normal. now It happens at random times, I will be going though a drive thru and the Idle will start bucking and it will die unless i stall it up. also when it is having a "temper tantrem" if im coming to a stop i notice the mph will glitch when the rpms are under 1500. does anyone have a clue about what this might be? it seems to happen at the most inconvenent times also (when taking a girl out on a date )
also I have a SES light that apears randomly when cruising around, I scanned it and it is a code 43 I have no clue where this could be coming from.
I really need to get this tracked down if you guys could help i would greatly apperciate it !!! :hail:

Thanks,
Chris

My car does the exact same thing, except it dosen't get better at higher rpms when it's having it's temper tantrem.. I also noticed it seems to do it only when you don't want it to, like when you are running late for work or are on a date.. I have already replaced the ecm hoping to get rid of the problem but it's still there..

Anybody have any ideas on what might be causing this?

It's a 91 Z28, 305 Tpi, 5spd, stock motor, 730 ecm (no changes to anything in the ecm, orriginal chip). The only other problems it had while I've owned it was a shorted injector 2 years ago, and the tach is past redline when the engine is around 2k rpm. Hmm, now that i think about it when it has it's temper tantrem, the tach doesn't work at all..

I found out that it was my ignition module, and I got a good deal on a whole new distributer so I just replaced it. all is good now.
Dan, I would take yours off and get it checked, good luck
