vats/prom question

vats/prom question

ok i got a custom chip burned.now i have a no start problem no injector pulse.from what i know later tpi systems cut inj pulse.my question is if vats is bypassed from te chip would the output wire on ecm have voltage.i checked miine at the pin on ecm and got 4.87v.the system is a 91sd tpi im using a 7330 ecm.oh yeah its not a fctory harness its a painless.i didnt know where else to ask this.i figured alot of people bypass vats all the time when burning chips maybe someone would know.thanks for any info. eric

With the ecm unplugged you should see full battery voltage on the two injector wires.
The ecm grounds the injectors to turn them on.

I've been involved on 2 Painless Harnesses, hope you have better luck. I'd really suggest going pin by pin and matching the wiring diagram up to what you have, so as not to smoke anything.
Electrical stuff, once you double check everything, go ahead and check it a few more times is how I do it.

i been goign through the harness and checking pin by pin i havent found a problem yet.i did just get off thephone with painless and found that the problem seems t be from ecm itself.i got some more things to check to be sure but it seems like thats the problem.thanks. eric
