How steady is your wideband output.

Well I finally get my wide band together and my led display working!!

The question I have is how steady is your O2 display.

What I mean by that when accelerating fairly normal (not on it) the led display usually jumps around by one led unit.(14.7) (I would expect this is normal)

When letting off the gas the led dispaly drops to 12.6-13 range then is about 2 sec it goes back near 14.7. Is the drop normal?

Having never done this before, just want to see if I am on the right track, tune wise.

I still have a tons to tinker with...........

Thanks

PS. Grumpy, I am thinking about making the trip for the tuning session, to get some first hand experience!

Oh great, now that I've returned to Ohio from NJ you go to NJ, lol
That rich dip is due to the throttle closing off the air, wall wet pulls from port/runners/plenum, so no air + extra fuel = richer than when throttle was kept steady open. Are you running port injection or wetflow?

The ecm is targeting a commanded AFR when in closed loop so you will see some flickering. And there probably is some even due to the filtering rates, having to allow a lil trash thur so that they are sensitive enough.

When you lift the manifold vac goes extremely low for an instant so alll the loose fuel laying around vaporizes, and flashes to gas and gets injested. So there is a rich spike, before the DFCO comes into play, and that has a dunch of different settings so you can see lots of oddities, until you actually figure out what you have going on. Not to mention sensor placement will generate some lag in the response.

No to mention that in some conditions the IAC is running around trying to confuse what your seeing.

With some codes it's interesting watching what's really going on, when you can watch the WB, the PWs, timing, and IAC.

1) I wondered why this happens. The night before last I got my WB kit going for the first time- neat! I was puzzling over the rich dip, but realised it must be real when I went to 4.0v under DFCO conditions. I'm running with my Digital voltmeter connected at the moment and doing lots of mental arithmetic.

The other confusing thing is that after you first get the thing calibrated in free air, and then screw the L1H1 O2S into the headers, you get something like 2.8v when you're looking for 4 I pulled it out and checked it all again before realising the air ain't sweet in the headers

2) Where is your usual warning about not driving while watching and logging- or was this not done on a public road LOL.

Actually NJ is probably further for me, I live right near niagara falls/buffalo. Plus, the wife has some friends in OH which she may visit. Could you email me your cell number so I have a way to contact you, Thanks.
