charoal canister question

If you don't have a charcoal canister do you need to do anything with the bin? I don't see a table in the $8D code that deals with it so I assume you can let the ECM think it's there and not worry about it and it should not affect VE tuning.

Is this correct?

There are 7 adjustments to the CCC in the $8d bin, they are in the constants tables using tunercat. Most of them are enable or disable settings.

Yes there is one in the switch table to disable it and seven in the constants table to control it but if it is enabled as normal and it is missing, will it bother anything as far as the VE tables are concerned?

Flipping the switch did NOT disable it on my $8D AUJP using TunerCat. I didn't verify the TunerCat TDF though. With the flag unchecked the computer was still calling for CCP duty cycle. I disabled it using a temp constant. However - disabling CCP will disable highway mode because highway mode looks for CCP.

Trax,

Do you suggest turning off CCP until VE tables are dialed in?

No. Only turn off CCP during VE tuning if you will run with no CCP after VE tuning. You want to tune the VE tables as you would normally be driving the car. Thus, if you are going to keep CCP enabled then keep it enabled when you are tuning the VE.

So I sould leave it enabled in the bin even though I don't have the canister? The ECM won't know it's missing?

If you don't care about highway mode then disable it and tune with it disabled.

I have it enabled in the bin even though I don't even have a charcoal canister. I haven't had any problems thusfar. I am NOT saying that this is what you ideally would want to do. It's not. I am only doing it to keep highway mode. HOWEVER - this is actually a really easy fix via adjusting the actual sourcecode. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
