Spark retard
Okay, I found that the spark was retarding a lot (thnx to Grumpy) and that is what is making my engine feel so sluggish in the 1400-1900 RPM range.
My testing today with Datamaster showed me that spark retard was pulling out as much as 20* of timing. It would stop retarding the timing by 1900 RPM and then the engine would smooth out and it would accelerate much better. I don't know if it is related to my running lean, but I don't think it is because it only has spard retard while down low and I can't hear anything that sounds remotely like knocking. In a few recording sessions today, I never had spark retard or knock counts above 1800-1900 RPM.
Can anyone help me there? What would cause spark retarding in a certain RPM range?
Later, I unplugged the knock sensor and turned the diagnostic off in the PROM and test drove. I just got back and have not inspected the data yet, but I had NO spark retard or knock counts. The engine felt fine in all RPM ranges. I kinda figured that would happen.
What does that mean to you all? Do I have a bad knock sensor? Any suggestions or comments welcome. Thanks in advance (no pun intended).

I did some searches and I didn't know what to do with that.
Should I turn it off in the PROM? If so, can ya point me in the right direction. The switch section has 6 values for enable or disable, 3/each. If I set the enable and disable to the same value, would that effectively shut it down? What do ya think.
Or do you mean redo the plumbing? If thats the case, I don't understand because it is not plumbed to the engine. I did try to unplug it as suggested, no change there.
Thanks for the help.
