7749 + resistor pack + P/H injectors = crazy?
7749 + resistor pack + P/H injectors = crazy?
Some factory cars (DSM, Honduh, Mazda, etc) come with P/H (low-Z) injectors with resistor packs inline to the ECM. (ie making the low-z injectors look like high-z to the ECM)
What is to stop us from taking the ~42lb low-Z DSM injectors and resistor packs (or a 10ohm 10watt resistor inline with each injector) and strapping them to the 7749 without the driver swap?
This may not be the optimal solution because P/H injectors are ment to get 4 amps to open and then get 1 amp to remain open (hence the peak and hold designation) where as a saturated injector gets a 1-2 amp straight current to operate.
People will argue that "it won't work" and "that's not how it was intended to work" but there are people out there that do it and have had success doing so..
So I guess my question is have any of you guys been able to do it and were you able to tune around it? I think the biggest problem would be the idle as the low-z injectors may not be able to open quick enough at low PW's..
Thoughts?
