High/LO TCC coast load Limits
Lines:
L8316: FCB 8
Both are set to 3% for coast down lock
L8317: FCB 0
Anyone here lowered that to say like 1% , i believe it will make my life easier cruising backroads and in traffic where i can just lock it up at 42mph without it locking/unlocking as frequently needed to hold the lower lock up speeds
Thanks
Jeremy

threw new valve springs at the badboy all the way across the board , so im off and running again.
Those new ovate springs from Comp seem to be the bomb, definitely wierd going in but seem to offer a lot more for the $$$ than conventional, specialy when u keep nuking springs :-(
Changing the TCC lock/unlock thresholds to see what difference it will make and hopefully the desired effect is what i am looking for :-)
Should be going by the hac , just gonna make the code changes and lower my TCC mph enable and see how it goes. Got a pretty good set of TCC high and low lock/unlock tables I've managed to put together, does what u want from 42 to 100+ :-)
Just tring to wring out the last lil bit of mileage without affecting the fun factor

The 700R4 trans has no overrun clutches in OD. So keeping the TCC locked while in OD doesn't do too much. Not much of a change at all. In D the 700R4 will engage the overun clutches. Keeping the TCC locked makes it feel like a stick tranny.
The OEM cal for the TCC is setup for the average person that leaves the trans in OD and just drives around. If you like to control the trans a little better, then it is nice to lower the low gear (D) MPH and TPS lock up thresholds. That way around town leaving the trans in D (3rd) it just works nice.
Then increase the MPH lock up point for high gear (OD). This will prevent the TCC from locking too early in OD.

Slight correction for modifying the TCC coast hi/lo limit
line L8318 is set to 3%(will say TPS hysterisis in the hac)
U would need to change that to 1 or 2 % to get the desired effect.
Bruce, Im trying to work on mileage in the 35-40 mph range :-) From my house to Leannes is basically 10 miles and my only other repeatable pattern otehr than my drive to work and back so im trying new things out to see how they work. TCC lockup is now useable in OD although she keeps wanting to accelerate lol
Bob, I have tried playing with 3rd gear lockup at low speeds but always got aggravated about driving along slowly and then hitting 3rd locking up, unlocking and then going inot 4th and relocking........................ I havent found a good solution to work for me yet..
Found keeping the TTC locked at lower speeds just made for annoying bucking with any driveline slop/play involved and was just plain aggravating

PS I was killing Clevite springs that were checked for proper pressure installed height, etc for my app and i killed a total of 3 or 4 :-) running the Comp Cam honeycomb style now
