Hi guys, first time poster, long time lurker.

I'm hoping you can help me with a problem I'm having connecting to my cars PCM. I recently acquired a max-232 based cable. After some finagling, I was able to connect with datamaster, but not the moates software, freescan or winaldl. I have an '88 vette with the 165pcm.

I was under the impression that datamaster was the most finicky program for connecting, but it synced right up. The moates program, after I press 1, gives me a few lines of what appears to me to be gibberish(but I'm sure it means something to someone, just not me), then says can't connect, please try again. Freescan and winaldl, don't do anything at all when I try to connect.
