$58 Questions

Preparing myself for the swap and tuning...

1.Fan control- I see when the fan should start but not when it should stop (temp)

2.Power Enrichment- I miss the table %TPS vs RPM to enable PE

3.How does the ECM know when the throttle is closed or open (volts), is there a table for this? Otherwise how does the ECM know what VE table to use?

4.If I set spark ref.angle to 6deg should I decrease the whole SA table with 6 deg or is it included (like the 8D)?

5.If I look at the Boost multiplier table it doesn’t start addning fuel until it reaches about 7psi of boost??? Doesn’t it add xtra fuel before that?

I wish the TC def.file would be more complete so I don’t have to add so much stuff….

Email TC and get $58B def file. The fan control is there.

There is a TPS enable threshold. I think its a constant.

I dont get that either. If your running a car with a 6psi blower, then whats the point of running $58??

I have the $58B from TC and all I see is when the fan starts not stops.

So the PE enable vs TPS is has nothing to do with rpm?

The boost multiplier is a riddle? anyone with a ECM test bench maybe could clear this up?

I dont think I will see more than 6psi with my old 600B on my 415cui...hopefully I will be at 12 psi whith a new blower D1 or F1...

Your right about the fan control. I had just woke up when I responded earlier.

I verrified fan control this weekend on my car. It kicks on exactly when its suposed to. Kicks off when its slightly cooler, kicks back on, etc.

The boost mutiplier is wacked. I wish the VE table went to 190kpa.

Perhaps saturn, and some others who have done some hardcore tuning will chime in on their changes to the boost multiplier.

Yeah or Grumpy or someone else with a test bech...

I dont want to use my FMU for my new engine but maybe a DFI with WB. But I rather upgrade the blower than spending money on a DFI if the #58code can handle my setup....

have you tried to lower the start temp for the fan and verified that the off temp follows so the fan dont stay on all the time?

My fans come on around 196 and kick off at around 190. If I can find the byte for fan request in the aldl log, i'll modify the tunerpro adl definition and try it tonight.
