apologizies for the non-thirdgen content. i'll try to keep this brief.

anybody got any pointers on where to start (software/equipment needed) to work on a 96 chevy pickup (5.7 vortec)?

95 (pre vortec) is the last computer that can be modifyd by the do it your selfer. I think it will be a few years yet before there is the knowledge to do this. So your limited to the Hypertech and other programmers. There are a few places that can make a custom calibration for you, I don't know of any off hand.

I also remember people swapping the vortec computer out for the 730 ecm, and similar.
