WinAldl raw number conversions? Jon?
WinAldl raw number conversions? Jon?
I have searched but I can't find how you convert Raw data from Winaldl to something usable. I need to convert
Raw MAP, Raw RPM, and Knock SA into something I can understand so I can figure out where I am getting knock retard.
I used Jon's program to get my 8746 to spit out SA and Knock SA in the prom IDA and Prom IDB areas. (At least I think I have, cause there are changing numbers there that were constant before) . I found a post talking about converting Final SA's but I can't find anything about converting MAP, RPM and Knock SA.
Thanks very much............bob

Would I be correct in assuming that you have already found the other tabs at the top for sensor data, O2, BLM, INT, and Spark Counts? You can save those tables and open them up using Excel. You can also save your datalogs in a text format and use Excel to open them as well.
Yes, I have been using the other tabs in winaldl for blm and spark count etc with out problem. I now have the winaldl raw data and can save it and display it on a spread sheet. The only problem is, I don't know how to convert the raw numbers in the datalog to something I understand. There are a couple of areas where I can see retard,(I don't know how to calculate how much) but I cant tell what the rpm and map levels are cause I don't know how to convert them.
I think Jon was going to do some kind of conversion spread sheet but I know he is busy so I thought I would play around with the data, but I don't know how to convert the raw stuff.
Do you know how??
Anyone else?
thanks............bob

If you have a hac of your particular ECU, it should be commented with the various conversion calculations. Use those and calculate accordingly. I think that RPM is usually (raw value) * 25. MAP is usually calculated as a voltage and converted to a kPa number elsewhere...I think. Sorry I can't really help you with the timing retard calc. I have Jon's new program, but I really haven't used it much yet...that's gonna change soon.
I am still kinda at a loss as to why you are having this kind of trouble. If you already have the ECM modified for total retard, you should be able to correlate that with an RPM and MAP in your datalog sheet. If you use the tables that WinALDL gives, you should be able to see the spark counts at that same RPM and MAP. Put the two together and you are in business. Do a little creative work with Excel. It's a lot more powerful than a lot of people would have the rest of us believe.

jeep guy, thanks for the help. I got the hac and looked in the comments and found the conversion for map and rpm . thanks
I do not have excel, my data opens in notepad or word pad but I don't have any other spread sheet. I can still see where the problems are though. thanks for the help..........bob
