350 TBI system on Carbed 305

I know this isn't third gen related but I need some info on TBI, more specifically prom compatibility.

I bought a 1992 cargo van with a 350 and bad 700r4 for $400.00. I have a nice 1983 chevy conversion van with a 305 that has the mods in my signature. It has dual exhaust, a very mild cam (pulls 20 in/hg of vacuum @ 650 RPM), and gasket matched heads. The vans are both 3/4 tons, both have 700r4s, and both have 3.42:1 gears and P235-75-R15 tires. I know everything about the mechanical and electronic part of the swap. I know about elongating the center bolt holes, swap fuel tanks, swap fuel lines, modify the harness, swap intake and exhaust manifolds, etc. I need to know more about the ECM though. How do you think the 305 will run with the 350 TBI setup. I am not going racing just using it as a daily driver and tow vehicle. I am looking for instant starts, better throttle response, better mileage, and more low-end torque. Am I in for a tuning nightmare, with the specs being so similar? I know the TBI computers create new tables from engine operation but is there enough self-learning to compensate? I would like to hear your facts and opinons on this swap. I may just end up doing it and having a buddy help me tune it. I am hoping I won't have to.

Thanks

It will probably run ok. Put it on there and see how it works. If it seems to run acceptibly then you can just leave it as is. As for tuning, it shouldnt be too hard if it pulls good vacuum down low and is a mild motor.
