need some help please

1986 305 tpi transam , comp cam 212 218 449 456 112 lsa , port&polished heads , 1.94 intake valves, headers ,,

i get the car back home from the mechanic , it ran with the 86 hypertech chip , sometimes it would idel really low from going to park to reverse and die with the ses light on ,i tried the bone stock 86 chip in there and it will not idle period , no light ,,

i took the 86 chip and added the maf 1 from the arap bin to it , when i start the car the light comes on and it runs ruff , sounds like some knock as well ,

yesterday i tried to burn a stock 87 305 tpi bin , when i put that in the car it idled at 1300 rpm and wouldn;t come down , also the ses light was on ,

i am in a mess here , i was going to take the hypercrap chip out of there memcal but the bastards soldered it in there ,

please help

Goto radio shack. Get a connecttor to stick on the bottom of the memcal so you can put it in your pocket programmer. Then read hte bin.

Do a compare with your other bins. See what is different.

Also, you should find out *what* codes it gets when the SES light comes on.

What are you using to edit the .bin?.
Sounds like the checksum is getting messed up somehow.

MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) CIRCUIT (HIGH)

Looks like you didn't get the table copied correctly.

Try reading you stock .bin, and try loading that in the ecm, and see if you can establish, a basic read, copy, and write routine.
