Data logging

Sorry for this. There are probably a ton of posts out there about this however I have no clue what to search for. I tried searching for Datalogging however all of the posts are asking about download times and baud rate.

Basically what brought me her was someone in the TBI boards mentioned that they built a cable to log data from their ECM to their computer. I am interested in doing the datalogging and my own tuning yet I have no clue where to begin with the logs.

I plan on buying the Prominator however before I start the programming I need to do data pulls...

any advice on what I need to buy or build to get started would be greatly apreciated. Sorry for this redundant post.
