Engine: RamJet 350 running EZ-EFI 2.0
Transmission: Richmond 6-speed
Axle/Gears: 4.1
Some pointers please...

I've got my RamJet 350 running fairly well with the AXCN bin on a 730 ECM.
However my BLMs are running at 108. I'm using an Autoprom to modify the bins and I can emulate. When adjust the VE table to change the BLMs to the desired 128 the engine runs worse.

The timing is set at 6 degrees, both mechanically and in the bin. Originally the RamJet mefi had it set at 10 degrees. I adjusted to 6 degrees so it would match the AXCN bin.

I thought I'd come in here and ask for pointers before I start change the whole dang thing. SO, should I set my timing back to 10 degrees as the original ramjet originally wanted and then take a look at the VE tables. I'd go ahead and just do it, but since I have time to ask more experienced folks I am doing that.
Thanks
jcj

I like using 6d.

Hook up a scan tool, and make sure your seeing good O2 activity. You should see the O2 voltage toggline over and under 500mv. If the O2 is lazy or dead, it can read a false high or low.

Might even try running it just open loop to see where you are.

Pardon me if I'm mistaken, but isn't the AXCN bin for a TPI Vette? If so, that RamJet manifold is completely different. It's almost like me running a TPI calibration with my MiniRam. The cam is also very different than the stock Vette cam.

Do what Grumpy said and verify that all of your sensors are functioning properly and that the ECM is not throwing a code(s). Also, verify your fuel pressure is correct.

If that all checks out, then check the calibration for your injector flow rate constant. It should match what you're running.

If that is fine, then you'll have to start changing the fuel and spak curves. I would start with the ignition timing. With the tremendously shorter intake runners, it's going to be a very different spark map.

Dugh............

I just put two and two together on the Mag Article.

Congrats!.

I'm almost shocked that they let the mention of you doing your own ecm changes made it thru editing. Seems like too often all that gets mentioned is advertisers parts.

Doc's saying, atta boy, in the background. Now that's a real feat at 6 am....

Can do, will do..

Thanks guys,
I'll go and do the open loop running and see what I can find. What is it that I should see when running Open Loop? Before the O2 heater lights off I can see the BLMs are all running at 128, after the O2 sensor starts running in closed loop the BLMs slowly creep to 108....then basically just sit there. I've checked my fuel pressure and it is in the satisfactory range; I've even tweaked it a bit lower but it doesn't change much.

I will also check the cross-over pattern.

I understand that the maps will need to be changed and that's what I'm trying to learn.

I tried a few different bins just to get the car running and I was quite surprised that it ran as well as it did with the AXCN. I was happy that it just started and appeared to run well. It wasn't until I hooked up the Autoprom & Laptop that I noticed the BLMs almost always running at 108.

I've swapped O2 sensors once, but I can swap again. From what I can see on the ALDL monitor I'm not getting any fault codes.

Grumpy, thanks.

Maybe they realize that so many people are burning their own chips that it doesn't really matter anymore. Besides, I'm sure there are enough people buying Jet and Hypercrap chips that it also doesn't matter.
