WinALDL on a Mac ?

I'll do you guys one better . . .WinALDL through USB interface + running all your favorite tuning apps on a Mac !

Heres what I needed to get this going . . .

my laptop ( recently purchased a iBook G4 OS X 10.3.4 -- no serial or parallel ports, but 2 USB +1 Firewire)
copy of Virtual PC 6 or greater (129.00 for the standalone ver, 129.00 + cost of windows for others if you dont already have a licensed copy)
copy of Windows 98 or greater
1 USB to serial cable ( i purchased two off ebay for $2.50 each + shipping ! -- one for datalogging and one for my Prominator)

Getting the install of Virtual PC going on the Mac is quick and painless, getting windows loaded might take a while -- but I did not encounter any problems.
Once the Windows environment is installed -- you can install your software (get this -- Windoze did'nt even need configuring to use my Mac AirPort Extreme wireless network). I had no issues installing any of the software. WinALDL, TunerCat, and RT Tuner Pro.

Plugged in the USB cable & used the wizard to install RS232 to USB drivers.
Set configuration preferences in WinALDL to use com port 3.

I only went down this path, because the last thing I wanted was to purchase another old pc laptop and suffer the angst of small hard drives, slow data access speed, limited network connectivity, flakey displays, and short-life batteries.
Now I have the best of both worlds. A stable, modern version of Windows 2000, runnin all of my tuning and datalogging apps -- all within the cush world of Mac.
