Stalling after opening butterflies.

Stalling issues.

I am not sure where to pursue this in the $8D.

Manual trans, TBI

The idle was fine, I have been chasing BLMs and VE in the upper RPMs.

I noticed (when my ALDL cable worked), my IAC dropped to 0 a few time, else it was gonig up to 16 and down to 0 again. It wouldn't idle below 800 rpms.

I thought, OK, I need to open the butterflies a little, and get my IAC back up. I opened them 1/4 turn on the butterflies (yah TBI).

Now it just about stalls when shifting, if I wait too long to put it in gear. If I let the RPMs come down from a cruise around 2K - 2500 rpms it stalls.

But it didn't do this before I opened the butterflies.

I was thinking of closing them up 1/4 turn and to see if it won't stall anymore.

What should I do? Reset IAC? Or a table in the code?

Thanks.

Oops, apparently, my CONSTANT, Fuel Cut Off Deceleration Disable Engine Speed was reset to 1000, it was 1200.

Opening the throttle plates will decrease the IAC counts. When it get's the extra air from the throttle being opened up, the IAC will respond by trying to close up to bring the ilde down, therefore your counts will be lower.
