As I continue to revel in the use of TP 4.0, let me just say that linking the use of the Difference Tool and the current .xdf in use is very cool. I am in the process of converting my 7747 $42 bin to the 8625 $E6. It would be helpful to run simultaneous incidences of TP 4.0 in order to allow transfer of calibration data from one ecu to the other. Right now I guess I'll need to use 2 laptops.

I don't plan to support multiple instances. It would be a huge headache to implement this late in the game.
There's an easier solution to your problem that I can consider implementing: importation/copying of XDF objects across XDFs.

Do tell. That was actually the first alternative I had in mind but couldn't visualize how that would be done. I thought of the possibility of simultaneously opening multiple bins with 2 different .xdf files. If I could open a param with one and then a corresponding param with the other, that would be the preferred solution. Sort of a "Compare" capability but across different .xdf's.

I'm just getting started in this DIY PROM "hobby" and a tool like TP is a wonderful thing to have.
I noticed a few thing though:
-check internet for updates does not work if you are behind a proxy server
-pictures don't show up when using Help
Also would be nice if one could set the default working folder to a different location (just something to put on the wish list) so you don't have to browse to the folder where you keep your files.

- I just took a look and pictures show up just fine. That's quite strange that you would see this.
- TunerPro retains a "last used directory" for each individual supported file type. You shouldn't have to keep browsing each time you open a file if all your files of a type live in the same directory.

Been using the TPRT4 to do ALOT of datalogging lately and I must say, it is much more stable than previous versions. I can actually get more than just a couple minutes of data without it locking on me. I did a run of over 20 minutes today and it never had any problems.

So besides importing, are there any places we can get the .XDF files from? I checked craigs site as well as the tunerpro site. I have just been impoting them so far.

The importing feature is useful but I found a few things that could improve on it. Like for example; knowing the formula you can easily calulate the decimal places need. Example; RPM = 25 x val . The ecu import will bring everything in fine but display the RPM as 0000.00 . An eye sore.. maybe just a tickle
but I don't need those extra decimal points so I change the floating point to 0 decimal places and it's just a hair easier on the eyes. Remember, I do a lot of research so just those unnecessary zero's tick me off on a bad day. I'm still not done with my xdf file for releasing to the public. I was almost all done when I noticed how bloated and useless most of it is 90% of the time and for 90% of the guys looking to tweak things. So I went back and now have 2 files, one for basics, the other is EVERYTHING.
And like Judd said, you can make your own. Most of the ecm/pcm's we deal with most have the hacks avail so it's only a matter of plugging away on the keyboard.

While hand editing the ASD file this weekend with a friend who is well versed in such things, we fixed all the miscalcs in the current 730 $8d version. HAvent tested them all out yet however, going to try and finish that today.
Also, we modified the ads file in tunerpro 4.0 RT and wasted our time :-) It would not save what changes we made to the file, but it would take a save new parameters that we had added in.(ie we added new things for aldl and they were accepted. what we fixed that was present would nt save) Hence the reasoning for the hand editing in notepad/wordpad.

No, I will not give information on the ADS file text parameters. Instead, I'll fix the bugs you found in the editor.

Basically, if we added a parameter to the ads file using the edit function we were able to save it. If we changed an existing parameter to correct the calculations, we were unable to save it and it would revert to its former values.
I will check my version later and report back on it as well as download the latest.

I know im a little late (like 5 months late) But I would just like to thank Matt and his program. I consider myself somewhat advanced with comptuers and learning to tune was abit overwhelming. His program helped a lot.

Please forgive the silly question, but what cable is needed to do ALDL monitoring at the same time? I have an AKM cable and an Ostrich en'route to me right now. Are the two of those sufficient to do emulating/monitoring at the same time with this?
