Map Sensor Formulas

Do these formulas look correct for taking the MAP Volts and converting them to kPa? These formulas are from the last couple of pages from the Datamaster Manual.

1 Bar Map
kPa = (0.369 * N) + 10.354

2 Bar Map
kPa = (.0781 * N) + 8 (gives worst case error at Room Temp of +1.27 kPa)

3 Bar Map
kPa = (1.23 * N) + 2.2 (Max error of -.85 kPa)

There are also some data tables in the manual showing your the results using these formulas and what was actually measured.

Re: Map Sensor Formulas

Are these correct? I mean could I use them to edit my xdf and ads file for a code mask made for a 1 BAR Map sensor?

Re: Map Sensor Formulas

I don't know first hand, but given that N is an A/D converter number from 0 to 255 representing 0 to 5V they'd seem sensible, exept that the .0781 multiplicator in the 2 Bar formula need to be 0.781 to make sense. If the 1 Bar formula & numbers here is similar to the one you want to modify then the 2 & 3 bar multiplicators here being approx 2 & 3 times as high as the 1 Bar should at least bring you in the ballpark.
