explain AE-MAP

seems AE TPS %'s in my tunercat program are understood by me.

what i do not understand is how the AE MAP works.

i see 0-20-40-60-80 values.

if i am cruising at 2000 rpms/ 30 map and i invoke AE and resulting MAP goes to say 60 is the value in AE 20-40 MAP inputted in addition to the % change quantity thay TPS AE provides? usec from tps + usec map = net AE? i stated earlier i used to see a double spike in my logs when AE is involved and i assumed first was tps and second map.
