Logging 85' LG4
Anybody have any luck doing this?
I created an ADS file for TP using the info for the "A7" datastream.
From what I see, this is not bi-directional and has no commands needed to obtain the 160 baud output. Supposed to be 20 Words, and I've set 20 byte output and 40 with different payload offsets to no avail.
There is just nothing coming from pin D as far as I can tell.
I have code 14 (coolant sensor) and wanted to see the sensor data anyhow.
The cables (multiple) are confirmed to work on my TPI so there is no comm issues or cable problems.

It may be that you need to either short A & B or use a 10K resistor. The CCC setups I've played with ('85, '87 Regals) won't xmit unless in a diag mode.

Thanks RBob,
I should have mentioned that I tried both ways there as well.
Was thinking maybe there was something in TP that needed to be checked (master, checksum cmd, or monitor) Payload offset, etc. Don't know what those are and with no command being sent to the ecm, how does TP know where to interpet the start the datastream ?
Maybe only Magnus would know

Some logging
Figured I'd do an update.
The 1.5K resistor added to the cable made it work with WINALDL (ver 1.09e) and it must have the 10K resistor jumpered to get communication to start. Used the "CLCC 1984 car, 85,86" setting at 4800 rate.
Still couldn't get TunerPro to connect with the cable even after using Winaldl. Was hoping to get some RT graghs to see where my problems are.
I'm indicating code 41 "Tach Input error" but am not sure how thats possible if I have rpm being didplayed
Ps, Thanks for adding some CCC to the tuning guide

Your welcome JP.
There isnt alot of inof here on it, but anything pertinent that comes up or is found will be added.

I did find that the tach error was a remnant code that I forgot to clear out while I was tinkering
Working good now.
After all the logging hoping to find a component problem, it looks like I just need a good tuneup and a carb rebuild (again)
Will tinker some more tomorrow to try and get TP online.
If it works I'll get the ads posted up.
