Romulator funny, maybe tunerpro needs update?
Okay, so I've had my pocket romulator for some time now and it was working GREAT... until I changed it's settings to emulate a larger eprom (from a 2732). So I couldn't find the romulator software on my computer for like 10 minutes of looking so I gave up and thought that TunerPro would work. I open TunerPro and it finds the romulator, awesome, but then it doesn't work. I upload a 4k bin (2732 sized) and plug it into my zifed 8746 ecm. The 1st 4 pins aren't used and just overhang. Well it doesn't work. Turns out you need to set the chip size using xtronics romulator software.
So TunerPro master, I think there needs to be an update
.
Just read the bin file size and if it's 4k, set the romulator accordingly. Very easy unless you're using a bin stacker and/or flash chip adaptor.
I'll post this over on Mark's personal forum as well.

That's the first I've heard of that, and last I looked at the romulator software theres no way to set the chip size.
TunerPro loads the bin into the upper addressing of Romulator Memory. That should work.

So, I detect that its 4K and set the Romulator accordingly, eh? What about those who are using an adapter and therefore can actually utilize 28 pins? How do I detect that in code?

See, it's easy. Last edited by JPrevost; Sep 13, 2005 at 03:36 PM.

Cool. I'll just forward to you any questions that arise when users have it unknowingly set to 24pin when they're using an adapter and wonder why its not working. Expect 7 a week (the downside of being the author of an increasingly popular application).
I'm just givin' you crap. You know I gotta do it.
Keep 'em coming, Jon.

. You don't think I get more questions a week about tuning TBI? Heck, I've got one guy, a member of this forum, that's sent me 7 e-mails in the past 2 days.I don't mind it but I tell them only what I feel is necessary.
If you can't figure out the addressing issues that xtronics has in their program vs tunerpro then this might be impossible.
I'm going to do some serial hacking tonight after dinner. I'll post it all here to see if I can't help you figure this one out.
