Tuning question regarding highway mode.
When i am tuning my car at different rpms and load conditions not in PE, is it ok to have highway mode engage since it is just a calculating off the of the base AFR, or do i need to temporarily disable it?

If tuning VE, disable it. Just use your closed loop functions to tune the normal range (assuming you'll be using closed loop for the final setup). Once things start to go on the lean side, misfire can screw with the readings (assuming you're using a wideband) and the math may not correlate quite as well as on the rich side.
i believe mine is disabled. dont have TC in front of me. i believe it does not function till i hit 75 mph. i set constant at 75 mph.
does that seem right?
somewhat related: how does one disable deacceleration enleanment? i too adjusted that ion tune. i think i set the MPH to like 2 mph meaning it does not function at normal speeds. also i think there is a map setting? i recall setting that to "high map"?
when i do a WB log on throttle closing/prolonged deacceleration i see slight enrichment then a enleanment to about 30/1 until i reach a stable speed then back to 14/1. i assume that is expected? i was relating the DFCO to a leaned/dried out intake manifold and subsequent lack of AE when i get back on gas. i since determined my VE tables needed to be enrichened substantially by not shooting for 128 blm but possibly 123-124 and i run today OL but occasionally burn a CL and observe changes in drivability. idle quality is remarkably better OL at 13.8/1 or so.
