OK, new VE or BPW question???
Ok, I figured out that for now VE2 is just along for the ride , until fine tuning of course or at least what I've tried. Now after many adjustments to my first calibration I have another VE / BPW question.
My original BPW formula said to set it at 174 for 14.7 with what I have, now what I'm tuning around is actually 185 BPW because my VE 1 was way off to get me started or at least to get me out of the driveway. What my question is , is it OK to leave BPW at 185 and keep tuning around this number to possibly acheive a 14.7 or should keep moving it down and adjusting my tables till I get to 174??? In other words is there several different ways to acheive a 14.7 efficiency? I know there has to be some give for engine wear and things to that nature but not sure if moviing up the BPW is a good or bad thing?
As for now I'm not really after all the power, speed and smokin' the tires but what I am after is learning how to figure a setting, adjusting a setting, and to know when and why I'm doing it when I do it. This learning curve thing sucks too, I think sometimes I just need to go back to "chucking" ecms at it! LOL As always thanks in advance for any info.

Close is good enough. The TBI code has enough problems, that you just can't get to accurately spliting hairs, without going to the EBL setup.
I used to leave it on the high side, so that the BL correction made greater changes, quicker.

Keep in mind that the VE1 and VE2 are added together to get the total VE.
If you find the VE in the first 3D table getting too low or high, move some of it between the two tables to equalize it out. If your still having some confusion as to how they work, do some searches. The VE1, VE2 has been discussed quite a bit on this board.
As for the BPW, set it to match the injectors and engine cylinder volume and work with the tables. In the grand scheme of things it doesnt really matter much but at least the VE tables will be an accurate reflection of what the VE really is once tuned.

Yes dimented I'm figuring this out slowly but surely. I did three things for learning purposes of course.
First was to do my new calibrations on only my VE1 table after doing a winaldl run. Found that it runs better on top end but still really sluggish or jerky when getting from ranges of 800-1200 rpm.
Second was to null out VE2 and give it a try, NOT!!! Won't do that again.
Third is I went to see a fortune teller and she told me that she seen an Ostrich emulator from Craig Moates in my very, very near future!
