Do I need a ODB1 or ODB2 cable?

Hi, I've searched through the forums, but haven't found the answer. I'd like to hookup my laptop to the car, with an ADLD cable through www.adldcable.com, but I'm not sure which cable to get.

Bob at that company recommended a bare pin cable, but wasn't sure if it should be an ODB1 or ODB2. I have an 85 IROC Z28 305 TPI.

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick,

You'll want the OBD1 cable. Anything prior to 1994 takes the OBD1 style 'square' cable.
