Man I'm a Jack___ Check this Out
Well who ever said advancing timing was good. Not sure but i always thought anything over the base timing helpped and give it a little more power. Not every motor likes it thats for sure. My motor HATES ADVANCE TIMING!!!!!!!
I had to set my base timing(in the chip) to 4 degress not at the factory 6 degress. Anyway I've been adding all this timing(timing tables in my PROM) in my lower RPMs like 15 degress and data logging but not finding any knock at all which i thought was good. but it seemed to really hurt preformance a little. Well little did I know that the knock senor was not active in my lower RPMs after searching the other day . So my motor has been getting all freaking hosed up like stalling poor idle like it had a heavy @ss cam in it and smelly like it was getting burnt up. Good thing is I didn't ever drive it too far and for to long like maybe at total of 500 miles but in 7 mile increments. Anyone out there think i melted spots in my pistons??? I mean it still runs really strong as of today. but i think that i hurt the damn thing. Guess a compression check would be smart huh? Grumpy thanks for the advice on my past post, it really made something in my brain click....
Also i have two quick questions please anyone. I locked my BLMs both min and max to 128. I understand that it's not very smart because if a sensor fails i could be on the side of the road. is that the only down side? If so i'll just keep a stock chip on the side. Also the BLMs min update if i set that to 0 seconds will it adjust my BLMs faster which will give a better or prefect mixture. I'll admint I'm a lazy a$$ or just flat out sick of trying to adjust this to prefect. I rather have my sensors do work for me. My next question is min TPS% vs PE it was at 70% i set it to 50% so it goes into PE sooner this is just the same as getting TPS enhanser right? I feel the differance I like it for the most part but is it safe?
I gotta lotta respect for you hard core programmers. I thought I was good. I'm not even close theres a ton to learn... You'll are basiclly sciencetist..

You need to run the min amount of advance consistant with best performance, tuning to the limit of knock is for the flat head ford guys.....
When tuning you're supposed to pull the plugs to inspect them for signs of detonation. Little, black or silver, flea turd sized specks on the plugs are signs of detonation. Detonation can turn into pre-ignition and it doesn't take much preignition to kill pistons, rod bearings, etc..
Keeping an open loop chip can have it's merit. A tank of **** gas can leave you walking otherwise.
Anyone that says they know it all, only shows how little they know.

Grumpy thanks (you are the man), Next time I touch timing will be after longer hours of research thats for sure, I mean I'm pretty happy with the way it pulls, pulls mean as hell know.
As for that Open loop chip I'll have me a stocker on the side just in case.
BTW when a motor likes less timing does that mean it's a little more higher compression??
