ok, see if this gets any help?

if my injector constant is set correctly o2 voltage stays around the 350 mv range and stays in open loop! runns pretty well once I get past the cold idle proble (which I never got a responce on)

if I add fuel it will go very very low in mv readings..it is almost like I need the fuel to get it hot enough to read. but, when I drive it will toggle back and forth rich lean and it goes into closed loop but when I wot the car it just backfires (no smoke) but, starts and runs when cold

what should I do? a wide band seems like a waste of money if I can't even get a normal narrow band to show proper readings.

I even called a dyno tunner but, I have to pay him to learn how to tune my car at 100.00 an hour (this is what he told me)

if you want to know what my setup is I will respond with it but so far it looks like no one want's to help

Sounds like you either have a bad 02 sensor or you have it mounted to far from heat and it is never getting up to temp.

That would explain the non varying mv signal from it and no closed loop.

Might want to yank it from the car and trying testing it with a meter and a torch to verify.

Got headers? Is it a heated 02?

first let me thank you very very much for responding!

yes, I have headers. they are hooker longtubes and I have the o2 sensor mounted on just the other side of the collector (y-pipe side) about 2 inches from the flange.

I thought the o2 was bad at first followed the gm flow chart to check the circuit which checked perfect and I replaced it with a new o2 sensor.

my setup is a follows,

Car-1989 formula 350
ECM stock 165 w/6e MAF

Close Int. 43 ABDC .. Close Ex 2 ATDC
headers Hooker longtubes
Intake holley stealthram , ported polished BBK 52mm throttle body

Longtubes?

Get a heated 02 Delco number is AFS-74

Than start working on things :-)

Your 02 will be erratic until then.

Even when still moving but cooling down they dont read right.
