Some one please help!
I just bought a Hyperchip off a guy here on thirdgen. The guy who I bought it off of said it would workin my car (89 Rs Camaro 305 TBI) when I got it, it didn't work at all. I kept gettin trouble codes. When I called the company that the guy got it from they said they would take it back as long as there was no number in it. Whut number could be in it? If the guys camaro put some number in the chip would mine have over written it? If any one has any idea whut I can do or give me some advice. I really don't want to have to eat 100 bucks.
I dont know what "number" they're talking about, but the ECM doesnt have the ability to "burn" any numbers or anything like that in the EPROM. Hypertech would have no idea who and in what used their chip. Maybe they're taking about some sort of serial number on the actual EPROM package.
So you think that if I send the chip back to the company...all would be good and they wouldn't be able to figure it out? I don't want to have to bite the 100 like I said so I was planning on sending the chip back to them and tellin them I bought the wrong one Thanks for the help
