I think the generally concensus would be that TPIS is expensive for comparable products for elsewhere. What mods do you have on your car already?
A chip by itself may yield some performance gains, but I prefer that the chip be custom based on other mods already installed. These "off the shelf" proms, whether by TPIS or anyone else, don't usually give much performance gains by themselves. You need other mods THEN get a PROM to match.
An article by Car & Driver in 1998 did a test on various "off the shelf" proms on a variety of cars (and trucks). They tested the 1/4 mile, top speed and dynoed the rear wheels. Generally, other than removing a "speed limiter" and "tweaking" with the TC lock-up, no real performance gains were noticed.
