Easy question for those w/ diacom

Alright, I have the diacom+ software. I need to get a cable to hook it up to my car's computer though. Where can I get this cable and how much does it cost? Also I was reading through the diacom text files and it leads me to believe your not supposed to drive the car w/ diacom connected? Is this true? I really want to do some 0-60 and quarter miles down my road and get reading from the engine under full load. Can and how should I do this?

Thanks

I suppose you got a "copy" of the Diacom+ software if you dont have the cable. Cool... For your car it'll be difficult to get the cable. I saw a website that makes cables for the 730ECMs but not for your 165 though (with the slower baud rate). Diacom suggests not to drive since it can be dangerous, but then what the hell is the purpose of having Diacom if you can't drive around and see what the ECM is doing ? lol

Ok ... let me get this straight. You have Diacom+ but you don't have the cable? In other words ... you are looking to have an illegal copy of Diacom+? I would suggest that you contact Rinda Technologies at www.rinda.com for a completely licensed version of Diacom+ along with the cable. If you want to bootleg Diacom then please conduct your research off-list on that matter.

I bought this copy of diacom on ebay, but it didn't come with the right cable to plug into my car, it came w/ some other cable for another make that i'm not sure of. So obviously I need to get a cable to make it work.

Cool. In that case you can contact Rinda Technologies (the makers of Diacom). You can buy the correct cable directly from them so long as you have a licensed copy.

Look at the pinouts of the ALDL, that's the difference, as I recall.

Depends on mode selected.
I've had it running for hours at a time on the ecm bench. I've run ecms and injectors till destruction with it on the whole time.
