differences in 87 f-body and 89 y-body memcal?

Guys,
I as you have read messed up my previous memcal. Is there any difference in the 87 and 89 memcals? Thanks guys.

I dont think there are any differences. They should be the same. The only major difference was in 90 when SD was introduced. Why not just plug it in and see how it works ?

Well for one i can't just "plug" it in. My car is an 87. The 89memcal/vette chip had vats so i'm going to have to desolder the chip out and put a ZIF socket in and then reprogram the chip but it would be nice to know if it wouldn't work due to the limp home mode chips. That way i can at the VERY least take it back and get my 45bucks.

Probably,
There is something odd going on in at times you can't run 89 code on a 87 memcal.
But, lots of folks have.
