DFI users........Help me!!

Here is the deal. My car is an 89 TA GTA. I have bought an Accell DFI box, PN# 740228, and map sensor from my cousin. He is planning on putting the same thing back in his mustang in the future so he doesn't want to part with the wiring harness. Here is my question, Did the harness that came with your systems plug into your stock GM sensors? If so, what was the part number for the harness. I am being told different things by different people and Accell just sent me a list of their distributors to call.

Robert
PS - Thanks for the base map TunedPort350.

World products Sportsman II heads. Lunati pistons and custom ground camshaft. Will dyno after the break in but is estimated at 450 hp and 520 ftlbs. The T-5 is on a suicide mission.

Forget the harness that comes with the DFI. I used a splice harness from Dan White Racing. You can go to www.whiteracing.com for info on how to reach him. Real good guy. He stands behind his product and we’ve used many of his harnesses with out any problems. He’s even been mentioned by name in the Accel DFI training manual. His splice harness goes in between the DFI unit and the OEM harness. No cutting or hacking into the stock harness. Also, if you tell him your engine parameters, he can come up with a base map for you that comes real close. He’ll even help you with tuning it afterwards. BTW…DFI’s were made to work with GM sensors, so Ford users would have to switch over to GM sensors.

FastLife, you are a life saver! Thanks. You saved me cash and, most importantly, work. The harness is on its way.

Yep I will back whiteracing up. I bougth all my DFI from him as well. Just like he claims. the adapter harness is great. I even drove out to his place in mich t odyno my car.
Good GUY!
When I dynod my car I was still running my 85ECM. I tried the DFI before that and gave up. I then use my DFI adapter harness to mate to a 7730 which I am running now. I just repinned that harness and added the extra plug for the 7730.
