TC lockup questions

I don't want to lug my new engine and the 700R4 was always very slow to downshift. To help this, I've cut down the TPS% enable for TC unlock tables, especially at low speed. Am I doing the right thing? Am I going to hurt the TC? Should I fiddle with the lockup tables?

Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3:23?
I have done some work in this area myself. Here are my suggestions:
1) Start with an '88 bin. The TPS settings in there are much better than for the '87. Don't mess with the TPS stuff.
2) Change the lock and unlock speeds. I have mine set to lock at 51mph and unlock at 49mph (lower gears and fourth gear). This way, the converter never locks in lower gears (1-3), and locks at a higher-than-stock speed in fourth.

This change alone was worth the purchase of the TunerCat software!
