Optimum air fuel ratios
Optimum air fuel ratios
Ive been tuning with my speedpro for a while now and am curious as to what others think about air fuel. In my air fuel table I have idle ratios around 14.2-1 and my wot at torque peak around 12.7-1 leaning out to around 13.1-1 near hp peak. Cruise is around 14.0-1. I have heard many different things and have learned to give the motor what it wants. But shouldnt cruise ratios be around 14.7-1? I tried it and the engine just doesnt run as smooth. Also should wot ratios be richer?

if you're running with cat, you should use 14.7 as much as possible.
hope that helps

Finding out what YOUR engine likes best.
**My calibration** uses 14.7 at idle to base all further corrections on that, ie highway cruise. At WOT uses 12.25, which I double checked with a WB, and Plug readings. Reguardless of what you do you need to veriify things with plug readings. WBs and K/Ss are fine for a pure stockl application, but you can beat them at times
