reading hypertech 126 002 prom
I tried to read a hypertech 126 002 prom today, the number on the chip says 27256 so i set my programmer to those settings and read it.
32K file,
CATS Tuner says: Selected source file is either corrupt or an unrecognized format.
anyone know what I need to do? does hypertech change them around so we can't read them???
thanks
Brendan.

I tried 27C256 settings, no dip change, but it changed some of the memory speed settings, but i read it, verified the read, and tried again,
this time CATS tuner said it was a $77 Definition, is this somthing Hypertech does to prevent people modifying their chips?

Hypertech likes to protect their "propreitory" tuning. I'll save you the time and effort and tell you they disable EGR, speedlimiters, add a few degrees of timing and crank up the fuel a bit at WOT. At least that's what they did with the older TBI chips that I've looked at. Most of these were done way back when they weren't protecting their chips.
