Code59 looking for some V8 Beta Testers

First off we would like to thank everyone that has contributed to the community in the past. (Grumpy, Rbob, and many more..) Without their contributions we couldn't have gotten this far.

A few months ago a couple of us got together (Turbodig, 1981_TTA, Ty1295 and me) to see if we could take our ideas and make it a reality. We took the code59 that 1981_TTA initally released and started to add features to it. Turbodig and 1981_TTA have done an awesome job on the code. These guys are truely amazing what they can get the code to do. Whenever we find an issue these guys can figure away around it. (There was a 200 cell limit to 3D tables that they fixed.)

What is Code59:

Code 59 is a heavily modified code $58 for boosted applications. So a lot of things from 58 will still apply to 59 but with the new feautres that were added some things will be different/improved. You can still run this code on low boost applications. You will just need to have a 3 bar map sensor installed. Here is a quick glance of features that make up 59. (Complete list at the end of the post)

The following items added have been added to 58:
  • 3 Bar Map Support(required to run it)
  • WBo2 Sensor Selection - Used for output in ALDL and by the closed loop fueling if enabled.
  • Wbo2 Closed Loop Fueling (you want 15.5 AFR at idel, you cna mke it run it in closed loop)
  • Expanded 16x32 VE table for fueling
  • Enhanced ALDL outputs and Flags (AE/PE/DE flags, AFR in ALDL Stream, ect.)
  • Expanded F77(F77x) table for more fuel control in a wider
  • V8 EGR Fix
Currently we are at the point where we need more outside tester. We are in closed beta at the moment to work out any last minute issues before we release the 59 bin to everyone in a solid release form before adding more to it. (The code will be FREE) We have quite a few V6 testers and are looking for a few more V8 tester(2 or 3 more). We prefer to have people who knows how to tune, are running boost and don't mind playing with Beta code (i.e. could have some bugs). I have been running only this code on my Typhoon for the last 2 months and it is pretty solid.

To run this code you need to have the following:
  • a 749 ecm
  • or a properly repinned 730 that is currently running $58 with a working IAC.
  • WBo2 Controller output connected to your ECM (on the 749 it is Pin F14, don't remember if it is the same pin on the 730 when repinned)
  • 3 Bar GM Map Sensor installed (You can still run this code on a low boost or naturally aspirated application , you just need to be using a 3 Bar Map sensor and it must be using fuel injectors. We have not tested this on a TBI application so I don't know if it would work on that.)
  • Laptop
  • ALDL Cable
  • Chip Burner/Emulator
  • TunerPro RT
If have meet those requirements, and you would like to be a tester, either PM me here or send an e-mail to support@code59.org with your current set up and tuning experience. We are looking for 2 or 3 V8 testers.

You will be given the following to get you up and running on the new code.
  • Access to the code59.org beta forum
  • 59 ADS file for TunerPro
  • 59 XDF file for TunerPro
  • CalCopy program to copy your current 58 cal into the 59 bin
  • AutoTune Spreadsheet, (includes a tab to take your current F30 and F29 tables to make your new F29x (16x32 VE Fuel table), basically cut and paste the table from TunerPro and then back into the Chip.
  • 59 Base Bin
Here is the complete list of features of the current code.
Current Features of Code59:
Flags for these features have to be turned on in the bin using the 59 XDF to use these new features. Please read the Notes in the XDF on each item.

WBo2 Controller selection
- The code expects the WB sensor voltage to be present on pin F14 on the 749ecm (i.e. MAP2).
- Bit 0 : DIY / TechEdge v1.0 Sensor Nonlinear Output - Uses Table
- Bit 1 : FJO Nonlinear Output - Uses Table
- Bit 2 : Generic/AEM Nonlinear Output - Uses Table, Table can be calibrated to be used with sensor not on the list.
- Bit 3 : TechEdge v2.0 Linear Output - Uses Formula [AFR = (Volts * 2) + 9]
- Bit 4 : PLX Linear Output - Uses Formula [AFR = (Volts * 2) + 10]
- Bit 5 : Innovate Linear Output - Uses Formula [AFR = (Volts * 2) + 10]
- Bit 6 : AEM Linear Output - Uses Formula [AFR = (Volts * 2) + 10]
- Bit 7 : Zeitronix (Nonlinear Output - Uses Table)
- Second WBo2 Sensor Setting
- Bit 7 : RAW - Raw output of Voltage, Use formula in TunerPro ADS file to display AFR. DO NOT USE WITH WIDE BAND O2 FUELING FLAGS TURNED ON

Closed Loop WBo2 Fueling(Currently Not active when in PE)
- AFR High setting
- AFR Low Setting
- Sensor Ready Delay, amount of time to delay to make sure the wbo2 sensor is ready before WBo2 Closed Loop code is active
- F29_AFR table to calibrate what AFR you want to run. Matches the F29x table in Size so you can dial in any AFR you want to run under 100 kPa and it will run it at that AFR, provided you are in CLOSED LOOP. Eventually will be expanded to handle fueling when in PE (above 100kPa)

16x32 VE Table F29x covering (400-6400 RPMs, and 0 - 300 kPa (30psi)) - Replaces F29 and F30 tables with a much wider range of RPMs and kPa's you can controll fueling in. This table is used when in Open Loop, in PE, WOT and when F29_AFR flags are turned off. This is the table that AutoTune will help you tune.

F70_MPH Desired Boost Pressure VS RPM AND MPH - Changed table from TPS% to MPH based. Run Lower Boost for launching when at low MPH. You can scale the boost to come on as you increase MPH and RPM.

F71_MPH Wastegate Duty Cycle -vs- MPH - Changed table from TPS% to MPH based. Helps reduce boost spiking in 3rd/4th gear shifts by allowing you to adjust Wastegate% at the MPH your shifts occur.

Updated ALDL Outputs
- Actual AFR
- Desired AFR
- AE/DE/PE/DFCO/BLM Flags - Know now when you are in AE/PE/DE/DFCO or you BLM is active.
- $3f map variable (Real 3 Bar Map Variable, used by F29x, F29_AFR)
- $3e Filtered 3 bar Map

F29x Table Only - No longer use F29c (Closed Throttle Table) at idle. Use F29x Table for both Idle and Driving.

Expanded Boost Multipler F77x Table - Covers a wider range of kPa's you can multiply to and add fuel from 84 - 292 kPa
Updated BARO LOGIC
V8 EGR Fix

In the Works/Possible Future Features:
  • More WBo2 Control (When in PE mode, Open/Closed). Allow Full use of the F29_AFR when in Boost (Above 100 kPa) - We are still hashing out algorithm
  • Alky/NOS pump/fuel control - USE Seperate/adder table when ALKY active, Cut boost if Fuel Pressure is low, etc
  • Fuel Pressure Input into ECM and output into ALDL
  • EGT Input into ECM and output into ALDL
  • Security
  • 2 stage rev limiter, launch control
  • Knock output to a Guage (actually see how many Degrees knock you are getting) - In testing
  • Highway Mode (better gas mileage when cruising, configureable)
  • Expanded NVRAM support for MonteCarSlow's NVRAM card (will need it for More Learn cells for the WBo2 Fueling Algorithim)
  • Possible E85 support with a sensor in tank
