KPA conversion?

Is there any way to convert the KPA into voltage? My scan tool only reads MAP voltage and I when I look at any of the tables concerning MAP, thay only consist of KPA.

if i am not mistaken it is 0 - 5 Vdc is 0 - 100 kpa. so 2.5 v is 50 kpa etc.

chime in here if i am all wet.

It depends on Barometric pressure (different weather, different Baro. press.) and altitude also. What I do is turn the key on (car off) and view the MAP volts and record it. Then when I make scans all of the MAP volts are relative to the MAP volts with the engine off (since this is the MAP at atmospheric pressure). Example: key on engine off MAP volts=4.95. When making scans the MAP volts at a certain RPM (lets say 2000RPM) read 2.1. If you divide 2.1 by 4.95 you get .4242 which would be 42% of 100 Kpa which is 42 Kpa. Hope this helps
