746 ecm and IAT question

How important is the IAT? I know that isn't very specific but would it change the fuel curve on the fly if it were adjusted with a pot instead of a resistor? If this is the case then couldn't this be just like the adjustable MAP sensors?

Jon,

I don't think that the IAT has all that big of a factor on the overall performance of the engine. I have had a 4.7K resistor in it's place for a while now. I guess at 4.7K it tells the ECM that the Ambient Air is 55*F. It may help out with gas mileage but that's prolly about it. and even then it's prolly only 1 or 2 mpg. I wouldbn't worry about it too much.

I have a pot sitting right next to me so I think I'm going to try this out now that I have Diacom runnint. This software is great. One question about Diacom, how accurate is the vacuum measurment from the MAP sensor?
