Tuning out detonation

I am having what I think is detonation at around 1500-2000RPM when I get on the gas. I have logged a few times and do notice that I am getting some knock counts. I am running the ARAP bin and noticed that the spark advance at some points in the table get up to 40+ degrees of advance. Can I take timing out of the tables and how easy is that to do using Tunerpro. I have used the software to adjust the injector constants in the past, but have never touched to spark tables. I also notice that the AUJM bin that some guys are using only has timing up to about 36 degrees total advance. Would it be best to use the values from there as a new starting point. Any help is appreciated.

I was having similar issues. I would take a look at the RPM value and the MAP value where the knock counts are occuring, then go to SA - Main Table and pull a few degrees from that vicinity. I like to view the graph and drag the points down personally.

So you found that pulling out some spark advance worked for you. I realize that you are running a SD program. I am assuming that a MAF setup would be similar as far as SA is concerned. Thanks for the reply.

Take it with a grain of salt, i'm just sharing my experience. I'm not sure how your setup differs from mine. Assuming your base timing isnt way out of whack I dont see much else that could help. But yet, pulling spark advance in the effected areas helped me.
