AT29256 ZIF Socket Group Purchase

I am posting this to see if there is enough interest in putting together a group purchase for AT29C256 and ZIF sockets. 15 or more will cost $4.20 each for the chip and $7.53 each for the socket. I would like to place this order by Labor Day if possible. Please let me know if you want to get in on this.

No need for ZIF sockets with that chip. Just solder it right in the memcal. That's what I did and I have burned it 50+ times already.

Depends on application.
On my ROMless 148 I have to run them. Ony one using the ROMless 747s needs them also.

Are those sockets gold plated and with a *lift up* lever?.

I will have to check on the sockets but I believe they are the lift up type. I will let you know.

OK, Here's some info on the socket. The one that I quoted the price on is a lever type tin plated socket. I have also found a gold plated version but it is $12.49 for QTY 1-24; 25 and more the prices drops to $10.93

So far I have requests for about 14 chips and 3 sockets.

I plan on placing the order September 4th.

I will try to keep everyone updated.

Just to update my order I would like to order: 2 ZIF sockets
6 Chips

Also do you take Paypal? If so that would be a great way for everyone to pay you. I use it all the time. I(we) would need to add 3% though to make up for the Paypal fee.

Thanks again!

I have just placed the order and should receive the chips and sockets Wednesday Sept. 12th.

Once I have everyone's shipping address I will figure out the total costs with shipping for each of you. The chips cost $4.20 each and the sockets are $7.75(sorry about the rise in cost but the manufacturer raised their pricing on Sept.1 and I only found that out today when I ordered)

I have ordered 4 extra chips and 2 extra sockets in case anyone is interested.

I will accept payment by PayPal or Money Order. Personal checks will need to wait until they clear the bank.

Just want to update everyone. The parts finally arrived on Friday. I will be going through everything tonight and will start figuring out shipping charges to each of you.

If you have not sent me your address please send it so I can get all the shipping charges figured out.

Thanks,
Dan

I am confused?? why pay for the chips when you can go to the atmel web site and order samples they cost ....oh ya they are samples so they are free no shipping nothing. I just got 6

I am in no way advising any one to lie on the order form but it helps if you say you plan to use lots in the future and you are a design engineer for a large company
