I think this has got it on the road to recovery. Please let me know what difficulties/successes you have. Same links as before.

Craig -

What responses are you getting? I'm sending my reports in as quick as I can, but it would help to know in what area you're working (as opposed to what you have working).

I'm trying to spend more time working the issues than talking about them, but mostly lately I've been working on:
- Data accuracy
- Logging functions
- Communications /w/ com port
- Display simplicity & menu navigation

Biggest issue so far seems to be comm stability and ease of establishing connection. That I will continue to work until it's right.

I played around some with E6 and got it to autolink to my '86 in less than 1 sec. All I did was put in a 100 ms delay between retries to let the 160 baud stuff clear out.

I have so many issues with qbser that I wrote the UART routines directly. Probably slower, but at least now I know what's going on (and not). Maybe some version 8 comm difficulties lie there?

Next for me is to do some mode 3'ing to get the dynamic dwell value. Use that with reference period to get individual sparks? Tempting thought. Also, Mode 4 still beckons.... Since you've done *all* the groundwork it is *so* easy to try out "additions" to your great framework. Thanks for publishing the source code, Craig.

I played with 8.40 tonite. It sync'ed after a few 1's, but stuck there. C-A-D wouldn't even budge it. Probably something on my end.
