CM Software Question...
CM Software Question...
I posted this in the ECM forum, but this looks like the place I should have posted it, so here goes.
While I finally got my cable from AKM electronics soldered together last night and tried it out this morning with Craig Moates' ECM software and both of them work great! My question though is how do I know what the acceptable values are? My car is running good right now, so I could use the values I've got now...but I'm wondering if someone has a list of the expected values, from GM or something. I hope that makes sense...There's just so much data I just want to make sure I'm deciphering it properly. Some of the values make sense to me and others I don't have a clue what I should be looking for.
And Craig, if you're out there...First off, great job on the program and thanks for refering me to Andrew at AKM. Do you have a listing explaining all the different fields? Some of the field names are the same but show totally different values...like the Engine RPM on the first page and the Engine RPM on the 4th page, and other stuff like that.
Thanks in advance for your help...

Irocker,
I went to my local Barnes and Noble, and purchased a Tuned port book, it has some useful information, however, some of the best information I have has come from www.alldatadiy.com, however it is a subscription service.
Cheers

Thanks...I've seen a couple of books for tuned port at the stores...Do you have any specific titles I could look for?

The numbers on page '1' are 'raw' byte values. There are some calculations required to render some relevant data from the raw values, such as RPM and MPH, which often require a short equation and combining byte values in some way. Like the IAC counts and such, please let me know if there are 'calculated' values (ie. values which can be derived from the 'raw' byte values on pate '1') which are not shown on Page-4 which you have an interest in.
The calculations can be done by you in Excel or something after-the-fact from the raw byte value collection, but it makes your life easier if I put the calcs in the program up front...
Once again, if you see a need for values that are not shown, drop me a line saying which ones. I'll let you know where they are or chalk them up for the next revision....
