Using a friends chips...

The person I purchased all my chip burning equipment from, is sending me some of his bin files in the mail as well as some already burned eproms. He has 2.59 gears... Is this a constant in the computer that is easily changed or should I completely avoid testing this chip? He says it had some minor changes made to idle and evidently thats about it... Its for the same year a 90... what should I do hear?

Another question, can I read my stock eprom without removing it from the memcal?

The spark tables will need to be "tweaked" as taller gears tend to bring on the spark slower. But, as any good DIYer knows, you have to "tweak" those anyways.

You could look at other bins like the AUJP from DIY-EFI.ORG to get additional "hints", along with other SD eproms. Ultimately, my spark tables bear no resemblence to ANYTHING that I have ever seen, as it is UNIQUE to my engine.

As for reading the eprom, YES, if you have a burner, it can also read. I recommend making an "adapter" as suggested in Tim's (Traxion) article. Costs less than $5.00 and takes about 10 minutes with a Dremel.
