SLP PROMs?

SLP is haveing a clearance on PROMs. Are they any good?

They're still off the shelf so my opinion: no. I don't know the specifics but SLP made them for street performance which means they need to pass emissions which means I doubt there is anything special about them or worth the $70 "clearance" price tag.

They're on "clearance" because nobody buys them ! lol

I'd spend the money on a stock GM memcal, hack the prom out of it, slap a flash chip in and be good to go.

Oh, no, slp chips are probly the same as the "other" chip companies. Which from looking at various ones means they are crap.

They are still likely just as bad as all the other off the shelf PROMs... And if you just want a spare or backup Memcal, a stock one from GM will run you $37 if you know someone that works at a dealer.... a lot cheaper then the 'clearance' price of $70 from SLP.......

Plug in the MEMCAL part number at http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ - last one I bought was $40.29 including their rather high shipping for the real GM part.
