More memcal problems...

It seems that something else has gone wrong since the car has been sitting.. When I turn the car on, it will heat and desolder one of the pins on the ZIF. I've resoldered it three times now, so I'm pretty sure there's a problem. I was thinking that the best thing for me to do is to start by disconnect the ECM and triple checking all of the connecter wires. The darned thing was working perfectly when I parked it in July!!

Any other suggestions?

"when I turn the car on".....Does it start? Or does this happen when you just turn the key on? And how long does it take before it desolders? Codes? It does sound like a bad connection (heat buildup), but only one pin affected???

I can start it, but it will go into limp mode. I can't get a reading on it, there's no ALDL data. It desolders right away after the key is turned to the on position. I don't have to start it to desolder it.

Usually with the first two problems it's the prom-there's been a few folk that have had it work for a while, then it will immed. go to limp home mode on start up. (with no aldl data) Increasing erase time on the UV proms will help. Try to reprogram the prom, then look at the ecm; but the desolder doesn't make sense? Anyone else????
