Two major questions???????

I have been burning for a few months now.My car runs better than ever.I have never found a guide for tuning maf tpi.So I just do minor things at a time with positive results.I have my 400 running healthy. But I want to learn more about tuning for performance.1--What are the tables for tuning wot?I know about pe f/a ratio vs rpm, spark @wot.2--What are the tables for tuning part throttle?I know of spark vs load vs rpm. When I get more info on maf burning I will make a burners guide to maf.Something like that will help spawn new tuners.I already have some info like details for the switch and contant tables and more. Thanks for any input on my 2 questions.

First and foremost, hell yeah to you making some type of guide to MAF tuning. And I really don't have an answer to your question, but rather a question for you... I'm beginning work on a 383 MAF situation and I was wondering if you could tell me what software/hardware you used to work on your 400? I really don't know what would be best for my situation so I'd love to hear some input from you. I had figured on using TunerCat with a PP, and to monitor I am making the max232 board to use with Moatses' software. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

You've got things right.
All you missing is the transistional Accleration enrichment.

The *trick* to WOT testing is having a base line, and a way to measure performance. might weing over to DIY-EFI then in Incoming look for Tuning.doc, or Tuning.Txt same material just different formats.

Right now I use tuner cat & the pocket programmer for burning.I would suggest to get a eeprom.I could have saved $40 on the uv light. The pocket programmer can erase eeproms.I think its way quicker to erase too.For gathering sensor info I use an autoxray.I also have fuel pressure & a/f ratio guage on the apillar.I will have a g-tech soon.
What us maf users need is (aside from a guide to maf) is a program that maps the actual maf readings in 2d graphs.I can tune my #1 maf table at idle by checking my actual maf readings. If I could save my maf reading for every 100 rpms, then I could make my maf scalular tables perfect.
The a/f ratio guage does help. But I was thinking about a guage for the integrator.Just imagine how the integrator works.Would'nt that be more acurate than O2 readings. The guage would stay steady under all conditions too.
How do I adjust the transistional accel inrichment???

Ok thats one more question .How about someone shoot down my integrator guage idea.Engines can never have perfect a/f ratio under all loads & rpms.BUT it seems that an average of times the a/f is correct would be better.Tuning wise it would be acurate for idle and other readings. It would be useful for prom tuning. It should be way more useful than a a/f guage.Like my f/p guage it can double as a diag tool.

I'm working on a 383/MAF setup and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing some of your notes about how you got that 400 running healthy?

Any help would be greatly apprecieated.

Thanks

It's nice to see someone else from missouri here!Right now My car runs better than ever but needs more.I started out with a 19lb inj, small cam, stock heads, stock 2.5 inch exhaust & cat.I did have a flowmaster mufler though. The intake is ported but stock pieces. There is a few other goodies but...
Anyways I started burning in this config. This is my stage one "stock 6.6 tpi setup".I hate to admit that I am using lg4 2.25 inch exhaust manifolds. To get a car to run healthy though is very basic.First thing is having everything new or in good working order. My car was running like #### at first.(promwise)Setting the idle, adjusting the inj constant will get you in the ball park.It took me alot of research to get everything right though.Lets just say it's very close.I need a g-tech at this point.Clutch, what mods do you have on your engine?
Next week I will start stage two. That will incude headman headers 3in y-pipe,cat and exhaust to muffler.I already have 3.5 in tips.I also have 30lb accel injectors ready to go.The stock air filter will be replaced w/ a conical hi flow.To complete stage two I will install a less conservitive cam, valve springs and 1:6 rocker arms.I like the open axle for now. That way it cant break.I will get a posi very very soon. That will be finished in the spring.I will be shooting for twelves.Stage three will have a limit of the sky(and will inc 4in exhaust, spin tech muffler).I started with a 170hp LG4 running a mean 17.3 in the 1/4.I think I'm doing a bit better now .

My mods so far aren't.. It's in the "almost built" stage and I'm really unsure of what to run for injectors, as well as what prom mods to run. For now it's a 350 4-bolt bored 30 over, stock GM 400 crank turned to 350 mains and .10 under on the rods, stock 5.7" rods (no nitrous or supercharger), trw 10:1 flat forged pistons, L98 heads, and I'm not real certain on the cam yet. I'm running the stock TPI setup but I'm 50% of the way through porting it, and I'll eventually have siamesed runners to match the porting well. It has the stock 19lb/hr injectors from the 305 still in it but I'm sure that I'll need more later on.

Clutch, get yourself some SVO #24 injectors, they are what I'm running, and reasonably priced at Summit/Jegs. I have the injector size set at 26.1 in the chip. You can raise or lower this to help get you in the ball park on you BLM counts and then modify you chip from there.

I'm running the ZZ4 cam currently, but I'll be changing that soon. That cam is to mild for a 383 with good flowing heads.

Sparks a flyin'
