Ive tried searching. The best I can find is its some kind of real time datalogging thing that also allows you to make changes on the fly. Am I correct?

Thats not exactly what it is. You are speaking of an emulator, which can be used with the EBL if you want.

EBL is basically an updated ECM with newer and better code than the stock GM ECMs. It has provisions to be directly connected to a laptop (no need for an ALDL cable). There are tons of other advantages and upgrades over stock ECMs, too many for me to remember, let alone list here. Read all about it at this web site. I'm very happy with mine.
