Newbie questions

I've bought one of craigs usb burners and I can't seem to get everything working right. It seems to go through the burn process fine but the truck doesn't seem to see the changes.

The truck runs the same with or without a chip. Meaning I can remove the chip and the truck still runs. I burnt a chip with the fuel cutoff set at 3000 just to see if it was working right and it doesn't change the limiter. I've tried the same thing with the emulator.

The tuner pro rt software wants to shut down everytime I try to save a bin.

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Newbie questions

To tell if running from the PROM check for the SES blink at key-on, engine-off. If the SES does the blink it is running from the PROM.

The blink is: at key-on, engine-off: light comes on briefly, blinks off, then comes on solid.

You get that, you are good to go. No blink off, not running from the PROM. Will need to wait 5 seconds between SES blink tries.

Check the direction of the PROM in the ECM, and try a verify after the burn.

Re: Newbie questions

Well that explains that portion. With the stock chip installed it does blink briefly like you said. When I install the biggy back and my chip it just comes on solid. What needs to be done? I can verify burn etc with no problem.

Re: Newbie questions

My guess would be either the chip is inserted backwards, or the BIN needs to be stacked or offset for the burn. Do you know the size of the BIN you are using? And the size of the chip?

Re: Newbie questions

Well it looks like the stock bin is 32 and the chip is 64. So I stacked it and it still will not run on it. Of course now the stock chip does the same. Could it be an ecu issue?
