First time EBL help
Well, I finally got an EBL and I'm starting the tuning process. I have a basically stock 90 tbi truck motor with headers, dual exhaust, and a holley intake and throttle body. I dialed the fuel pressure up to 20 psi and set my BPC to 103 with the holley 65#injectors. Left the VE table pretty close to stock and the thing started up and idled fine. Smelled a little rich.
When I went to back up the drive way, the thing kept stalling out on me. My BLM's seemed to be way to high at 148 for the short log I did. Do I need to increase my VE tables? Is my BPC way off? Let me know what everyone thinks.

Re: First time EBL help
By the way, I do have a wide band on order and I also destroyed my stock chip, so I had to look at a similar .bin and guess at the VE tables. Would changing my BPC and not change my VE tables cause a problem when I bumped my fuel pressure up? I've been reading on this forum for over a year, but the stuff doesn't quite stick till you actually start playing with it. Thanks

Re: First time EBL help
It could be the injector flow rate isn't 65 #/hr at 13 psi. Or the fuel pressure is dropping off.
If 65 #/hr at 13 psi, they will flow 80 #/hr at 20 psi. The BPC vs VAC table should be set to 105 (all rows), which is close enough to 103 to not matter.
If you can connect a fuel pressure gauge and observe it while rev'ing the engine, that will help. This can be done in neutral at a stand still. On a warm engine wack the throttle open, the gauge shouldn't even move from 20 psi.
If the fuel pressure holds then the best bet would be to increase the BPC until the BLM's fall to the 128 range. Then do some VE Learns and go from there.

Re: First time EBL help
Thanks Rbob, I checked the fuel pressure and it is rock solid at 20psi. I bumped my BPC up to 110 and went out for a learn session. I have one major question. I have looked over everything that came with the ebl, and I can not find any instructions on what to do after the session is over. How do I create a data log and also, when I stop the learn and go to the analysis screen, nothing comes up. I feel like I'm missing some very basic steps on creating the new learn bin and viewing the collected data. I have not seen this covered in the posts I've read. Any help and direction would be appreciated.
By the way, the learn was pulling a decent amount of fuel across the board. My major concern is from a dead stop it bogs and wants to die if I don't ease into it real slow ( a little scary when trying to get into traffic). I'm thinking my AE-tps needs to be cut back a bit.

Re: First time EBL help
OK, I finally found the document that outlines the ve learn and data log process. I'm still not a 100% sure how to do a ve learn from a data log, but at least I can create a new bin from my ve learn session. Well I'm blowing ignition and fan fuses constantly all of a sudden, so I think I'm going to have to take a week or two to straighten out my wiring harness and find the short I must have. Good news is I'll have the wide band and iat installed by then.

Re: First time EBL help
VE Learn from a datalog is: start a VE Learn, then play back the data log. Can even rip through it by moving the slider to the right. Once the playback finishes, stop the playback and stop the VE Learn. The new BIN is ready to use.
The Analysis screen is used to look at data logs. It is usually worth doing a View Log and a Dump log and then reading the .EBL file into Notepad or Wordpad. Good info for AE on the last columns of the Dump Log .EBL file.
When reducing AE, do both the TPS PW and MAP PW tables.
