closed/open loop performance??

Just wondering what eveyone likes to use for there setup?? Open loop or closed loop or both?? Also wondering why my stock bin would have the temp for closed loop set all the way to the max!! I figured out that i was not running in closed loop at all today and that I should look into the bin. It had the closed loop on temp set to 150c. Any ideas. Now I have to start to redo my bin and ve etc. Any help for a newbie at this please!!!

As for open vs closed loop, the only reason for closed loop is the catalytic convertor. So, on a vehicle with cats I'll run closed loop. On a vehicle without cats I'll run open loop. Unless it is used for a lot of highway driving. In that case I'd consider running closed loop just for the lean cruise highway mode.

Re: closed/open loop performance??

Ok I just read your other reply and that is kinda weird eh?? LOL. If it is set up this way the blm/int stay locked at 128. So in order to set up my ve tables will i not need to be in closed loop so that i can see what to modify my tables to??? It did run fairly well in open loop with my current mods in the chip. But I was rich and then lean and cant tell my how much without a blm reading. Any help?? Thanks again

Yes, set the closed loop enable temperature within the range of 48 to 60 C (typical). Then use the BLM to tune in the VE tables.

Kinda strange you got an open loop leaded fuel BIN. Now if you were in Saudi Arabia it would be expected.
